Goa: British Woman Raped At Arambol Beach By Local Man

Panaji: A British woman who came to Goa with her husband, was allegedly raped near the Arambol beach in the city by a local man, under the pretext of giving her a massage.

The accused identified as Vincent D'Souza was a part of a group that illegally offered massage services near the Arambol beach in the North Goa district, which is quite popular with international tourist.

As per reports, a senior police officer said that a local resident accused Joel Vincent D'Souza raped the woman on June 2 when she was resting on the beach.

The victim had also lodged a complaint with the police on Monday and in this regard investigation is underway.

However, this is not the first case of rape of a foreign woman in Goa. Earlier on May 12, a similar incident had come to light when a 12-year-old girl from a Russian family who came to India was raped in a hotel.

Actually, the Russian family was staying at a resort in Arambol, Goa, and family members had gone to the market leaving the girl in the hotel room. Finding the girl alone in the room, a room attendant raped her.

In this case, Goa Police had arrested the accused from Karnataka.
